Fire reported at Matamoros facility
Status of Spellman Matamoros Fire. During the early morning hours of Jan. 23, Spellman experienced a major fire at our sub-assembly manufacturing facility in Matamoros, Mexico. Although no Spellman employees were in the plant at the time, three firefighters tragically lost their lives fighting the blaze. Our thoughts are with the families and local community during this difficult time. Our main plant in Matamoros, covering top level assembly, test, and administrative/technical functions was not directly affected. As a result of this event, our business continuity plan has been activated. After making an initial assessment of the impact to our operations, our global and local disaster response teams have now launched recovery activities. We are grateful to all of our colleagues who are working tirelessly to put these plans into effect. Likewise, we appreciate the outpouring of support and offers of help from local businesses, customers, and vendors. Further information will be provided as available.
