Spellman encourages staff to undertake further training and education in order to develop their potential and ability whilst maximizing their contribution to the business. We sponsor ONC's, HNC's, HND's in Electronic Engineering, together with MBA's, Management Diploma's and Accountancy qualifications. We encourage full participation in use of up to date IT packages and promote internal and external training for all staff to enhance their skills and ability to use new, updated and advanced software. Our team of Sales Administrators, Buyers and Planners are an integral part of the team, their training and career development is paramount to the support they give to the overall success of the business.
We also like to prepare our future engineers, accountants or technicians for the transition from school to work by running numerous young trainee schemes. Work experience placements give students a realistic insight into the world of work, its disciplines and relationships, by allowing them to spend a period of time in a working situation. Our advanced modern apprenticeship programme provides for training within in all or selected areas of the Spellman organization, focusing on a more specific career choice at a later stage. This provides a valuable overall appreciation of the organization and the opportunity to acquire a whole spectrum of skills.
All of our employees receive a thorough induction process that includes ISO9001:2000 Quality, ISO14001:2004 Environmental and applicable Health & Safety Directives. In addition our manufacturing and engineering personnel receive IPC-A610D (Hand Soldering Techniques and High Voltage Terminations) training and ESD awareness training.
